When I was a young girl, we visited my grandma in California quite often. She was an herbalist and she always believed in natural medicine, and was in very good health. In fact, when she died at the age of 89. she had never been to a doctor, not for anything. She was a very good mentor and I absorbed everything that she taught me. She told me about the herbs that she used for my mother and her sisters. My mother died last year at 93, her one sister died at 89 and her other sister is still living well at 92. I also went to the library and researched more things on my own. I bought herb books written by different people, and the way I would validate my studies is that if at least 6 or 7 authors agreed, then I would take that information and keep it in my files. Another thing I always did was to use the herbs myself to test them to see if they worked. How can I tell others if I did not have first hand information on their validity. Other times, I would do a study when people would take the herbs, and write down my findings. I know that people react differently, so I took that into consideration.
With the over 40 years experience with herbs and vitamins, I know that I have valuable information that I am putting in the book that I am presently writing. I managed to retain all my files, which now are going to be published in the book. There will be some things that most people have never heard about.
My goal is to help people to find ways to use natural medicine and live a long healthy life. When I read the paper every day, it saddens me to see how many people are dying young. Many times it says that they lost their battle with cancer. One of the chapters in my book is about alleviating cancer, heart disease and many other maladies. There are alternatives, but people just do not know about them.
Another chapter is on how to slow aging. Just living a long time is not the answer, because we can be kept alive with prescription drugs, and with the side affects, we have a whole new set of problems. Nursing and assisted living homes are full of people who are not living a quality life. My goal is to live well into my nineties or even 100, but with a body and mind that is healthy and sharp, and to tell others how they can do the same thing. I have started to achieved that already, as I am 69 years old and my doctor told me that my vitals are that of a 49 year old. You can do it also, if you have the right tools.
